Barbados Hurricane Forecasting
Autonaut
Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) recently launched its AutoNaut Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV), “Seawolf”, alongside a new spotter buoy at a national ceremony held at the Barbados Coast Guard Base.
Seawolf will operate east of the island within Barbados’ Exclusive Economic Zone, enhancing the country’s ability to monitor sea-state conditions and tropical cyclone activity.
These advanced tools are a key part of expanding Barbados’ National Multi-Hazard Early Warning System, improving real-time data collection and strengthening the accuracy of weather forecasts and storm tracking across the region.
AutoNaut is proud to support BMS in driving forward ocean monitoring and climate resilience in the Caribbean.
