We are delighted to announce that Jesse Loynes has taken on the newly created Fleet Manager role here at AutoNaut. The role combines the original roles of Workshop and Operations Manager and forms a fantastic addition to our workforce.
The role will carry joint responsibility for the workshop manufacture of new AutoNauts, maintenance and preparation of the charter vessels and at-sea operations and delivery to customers.
Jesse joined AutoNaut as our Workshop Manager in August 2016 with his responsibilities including the production and delivery of long endurance, autonomous surface vessels. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, deployment endurance improved from 3 days to 50+ days at sea over a 3 year period.
He worked closely with our design, systems and operations teams to deliver mission success for Ocean Research, Oil & Gas, and Defence. He was also the HSEQ lead and oversaw 13 complete builds with a wide variety of mission roles and operating environments.
As Fleet Manager his first projects have included the delivery and training of the PML Pioneer Autonaut in Plymouth, and the Extreme Environments – Extension mission in conjunction with Mike Poole, AutoNaut Ltd Director, including two 50+ day deployments and a total of 115 days at sea.
He is also the first AutoNaut staff member to be supported by the organisation to enrol on a Degree Apprenticeship/Post Graduate course at Portsmouth University.
Jesse comments: "I am very excited that this new combined role allows me to oversee the manufacture and delivery of each new AutoNaut and mission to ensure our customer requirements are fulfilled throughout their entire project."
